Career Transition Coaching
When you can no longer do this version of your career.
Career Transition Coaching helps you create a new relationship with work, one that honors your values, helps you move forward without abandoning yourself, and protects your joy.
For the person who is good at what they do, but knows something has to change.
You may have built a career that looks successful from the outside, a respected title, meaningful work, stability, a paycheck, or a reputation you worked hard to earn. And still, something in you knows you cannot keep doing work the same way.
Maybe you feel burnt out, disconnected, restless, or unsure of what you want next. Maybe the title, salary, or stability are real and so is the ache telling you something needs to change.
Career transition is not only a strategy question. Sometimes it is grief work, identity work, and liberation work too.
Together, we make space to tell the truth about what no longer fits, clarify what you want in your next chapter, and build a grounded transition plan that honors both possibility and real-life responsibility.
“A career can look right from the outside and still feel wrong in your body.”
What we’ll work on
What coaching can support
This work combines reflection, strategy, and practical next steps. Depending on your transition, we may focus on:
— Clarifying your values, strengths, needs, and non-negotiables.
— Naming what is no longer working in your current career or work life.
— Rebuilding trust in your ability to make sound career decisions.
— Separating fear-based constraints from real-life responsibilities.
— Exploring roles, industries, work structures, or paths that better fit your life now.
— Setting boundaries and making decisions without spiraling.
You do not have to blow up your life to begin creating a new relationship with work.
The paths
Three paths for your transition
Career Transition Coaching is available in three paths based on where you are in your career journey, the depth of support you need, and the kind of transition you are navigating. You do not have to decide the perfect path on your own, we can talk through what fits during your initial conversation.
“What do I actually want next?”
Career Clarity
01
Career Clarity is for professionals who are beginning to realize their current path may not be the one they want for the foreseeable future, but are not yet sure what comes next.
This is a space to pause, reflect, and explore what else could be possible before making a major move.
This path supports you with
Clarifying your strengths, values, needs, and non-negotiables.
Naming what is no longer working.
Exploring two to three possible career directions.
Finding language for what you want next.
Creating a focused action plan for exploration, job search, skill-building, or transition.
Best fit if
You are asking, “Is this really what I want?”
You feel restless, uncertain, or disconnected from your current path.
You want greater clarity before making a major decision.
“How did I get here, and how do I move without losing everything?”
Career Realignment
02
Career Realignment is for professionals who have been powering through doubt, burnout, or disconnection for a while and can no longer ignore the truth that something needs to change.
You may have hoped that the next promotion, raise, title, or milestone would make the discomfort go away. Instead, you are trying to hold the tension between wanting something different and honoring real responsibilities.
This path supports you with
Reconnecting with your values, strengths, and definition of success.
Separating fear-based constraints from real-life constraints.
Rebuilding trust in your decision-making.
Naming the identity, prestige, security, or expectations you may be holding onto.
Creating a transition roadmap that balances fulfillment, financial stability, and well-being.
Best fit if
You are mid-career and questioning the path you have built.
You feel trapped by responsibility, caregiving, finances, fear, or the need for stability.
You want a thoughtful change without blowing up your life overnight.
“Who am I now, and what do I want this next chapter to hold?”
Career Renewal
03
Career Renewal is for experienced professionals who know their current path is no longer it and are ready to thoughtfully reimagine what work, purpose, stability, and joy can look like in the next chapter of life.
This work may include grief, identity shifts, reinvention, and the question of what it means to begin again after years of building a career, reputation, or professional identity.
This path supports you with
Processing the grief and identity shifts that can come with major transition.
Reimagining work, purpose, stability, and life outside of work.
Exploring possibilities such as a new role, industry shift, consulting, portfolio work, leadership evolution, or entrepreneurship.
Creating a paced plan that supports both possibility and security.
Reconnecting with who you are beyond your title, productivity, or previous version of success.
Best fit if
You are 10+ years into a career or professional identity.
You know something needs to change, even if you do not yet know exactly what.
You are navigating reinvention, grief, uncertainty, and possibility at the same time.
What every engagement includes
Coaching with Jonathan is informed by training in organizational psychology, leadership development, career coaching, and ICF professional coaching standards.
Every coaching engagement is tailored to your transition, but each path includes:
— One-on-one coaching sessions.
— A personalized coaching focus based on your goals.
— Resources and reflection support between sessions.
— Space to clarify your values, strengths, needs, and non-negotiables.
— Support processing what you are releasing and what you are moving toward.
— Practical next steps for navigating your transition with clarity, self-trust, and care
Coaching is available in 8-, 12-, and 16-session engagements. We will discuss the pace and level of support that best fit your goals, capacity, and transition during your initial conversation.
How coaching works
Every engagement begins with a focused foundation period.
The first four weeks: Foundation
For the first four weeks, we meet weekly. This creates a steady rhythm for slowing down, telling the truth, and building the foundation for the rest of your coaching engagement. During these first four sessions, we focus on:
Clarifying what you want in the next phase of your career and life.
Naming what feels unsustainable, disappointing, or misaligned.
Identifying what you may be holding onto, including identity, prestige, security, expectations, or a past version of success.
Exploring what you are ready to release.
Beginning the emotional work of moving from acknowledgment toward acceptance.
Defining your coaching goals and the direction of our work together.
The first four weeks: Foundation
After the first four weekly sessions, we revisit your goals, timeline, and level of support. From there, sessions may continue weekly or be spaced out depending on your goals, capacity, and transition plan.
The structure is flexible because career transition is not one-size-fits-all. Some people benefit from steady weekly momentum. Others need more space to reflect, explore options, have conversations, or take action.
The process
The Career Joy Journey
Regardless of your path or timeline, we use a practical, human-centered process to move from career disconnection into clarity, alignment, and action.
1
Acknowledge
Name what feels unsustainable, disappointing, or misaligned. Build language for your experience and release the pressure to pretend everything is fine.
2
Release
Explore the roles, expectations, fears, identities, and definitions of success you may be holding onto. Create more self-compassion and space to consider a different future.
Reimagine
3
Clarify your values, strengths, needs, boundaries, and conditions for career joy. Define what you want work to feel like and what must be true in your next chapter.
4
Navigate
Identify realistic paths, evaluate options, and make decisions without spiraling. Distinguish fear-based limits from real constraints and choose a clearer, aligned direction.
5
Move Forward
Turn insight into action through an intentional transition plan. This may include career exploration, networking, job-search strategy, boundary-setting, skill-building, conversations, or planning for a larger transition.
How to begin
Start with a Vibe Check
A Vibe Check is a brief introductory conversation where we talk about the transition you are navigating, what kind of support you are looking for, and whether coaching together feels like the right fit.
You do not need to have your entire next chapter figured out before reaching out. A starting point is enough.
Access matters. Coaching is offered on a sliding scale, grounded in the understanding that financial capacity is shaped by more than income alone. We can discuss investment and available options during your Vibe Check.
If you are ready to tell the truth about what is no longer working and begin building a career that better fits the life you want to live, I’d love to support you.
